A Brief Mental Health Apology

Trigger warning: This post discusses suicide so if that kind of thing triggers you then please go and watch kitten videos on Youtube instead of reading the following post.

So this week I have a bit of an apology to make because this is not going to be a normal blog post as unfortunately it has been a bit of a hard week here at Born Without Marbles HQ. I wasn’t going to talk about it on here because to be honest I am really ashamed of what has happened but then again I am always honest about my struggles with mental health problems, so I figure why should today be any different. Anyway like I said, this has been a difficult week culminating in…gosh this is hard to admit to…a suicide attempt and recovering from all of that is why there is no regular blog this week. I did however want to take this opportunity to let everyone who may have heard of recent events know that I am physically now completely fine so there is nothing to worry about anymore and I am sincerely sorry for all the worry and distress I have caused. I will probably write a lot more about it next week when things have settled down a little bit. As I said, usual blogging will resume next week so stay tuned for that and please know that I am very sorry for having let you all down this week. Thank you to everyone who has shown me love and support these past few days and I look forward to speaking to you more next time.

Take care everyone x

  1. Hey Katie, I don’t know you but I’ve been following your blog for a while now and I just want to send you all my love and hope you get back on your feet soon. “Everyone’s survival looks a little bit like death sometimes” – a quote that pulled me through some of my worst days.

    • Aww this is so sweet of you, thank you for reading my blog for such a long time and thank you for this kindness! I will definitely be taking that quote and putting it to good use so thank you for your support. Hope you are well and have a fabulous day xxx

  2. Oh Katie I’m so sorry. I don’t have anything to say but I’ll be thinking of you. I hope you and your team can find a way to move forward. With penguins.

  3. Makes me really sad to read this. Not sure what to say (weird that British stiff upper lip-ism / awkwardness gets in the way even online!) and I also didn’t know what to say from last week’s post as I just don’t feel qualified. I just really think you shouldn’t let it defeat you and that your time doesn’t seem up – you have more to give and receive from the world. You’re in a dense forest at the moment but there is a path out of it – just takes time to find it x

    • Thank you so much Janders. It means a lot to me to hear that there are people out there who do not think that my time seems up yet. When everything feels like the end of the world a bit of hope in the darkness is much appreciated. Hope you are well and have a fabulous day xxx

  4. Please know i am only ever a text away, or if you want to meet for tea this week let me know when and where ❤ Say sorry to yourself for saying sorry – for feeling the need to apologise, because YOU NEVER DO. Perhaps if you stole penguins from antarctica, you would need to apologise because POOR PENGUINS.

As for being human? No guilt, shame or apology is ever needed. Think what you would say to me.

Ps: the penguin reference is in no way belittling the situation, but i know you're like me and it comedy offer the tiniest bit of relief. Sending all the hugs my wifi can carry and more xxx
